Our holidays 🤩 🌊 ⛰

Updated: Jul 30, 2021

Federico and I have been finally on holiday for two weeks, even if I have to say we’ve been mostly home to work on some thing of the website that have been left undone for too long.

The second week, however, we decided to have three days of proper holidays to relax and visit some placed we’ve never been within the UK as we couldn’t go back to our families in Italy for the restrictions. So, last Monday afternoon we left headed to Bamford to visit lake Ladybower, walk up to Bamford Edge and in the end to wild camp in the nature. The next morning we enjoyed our coffee with an amazing dawn and we got ready for the walk back to the station to go back to Manchester. Of course our dog was with us! We slept in the tent all together!

We had a lot of fun and it has been an incredible experience, totally different to a super comfy hotel, that made us appreciate the nature event more.

Just before this night out, Fede and I decided to slightly reorganise our house because Forrest started eating all my yarns I accidentally left on the desk but, more worrying was he could have ate something dangerous like one of the hooks, or a needle, or a scissor and hurt himself. On the other hand he’s growing so quickly and my desk is not that high and for these reasons we moved my studio upstair in our bedroom, out of Forrest’s reach thanks to the safety gate we fitted. The only downside is that I will just by myself when working, but it could help me to concentrate more on the work.

After turning upside down the house and having gone camping we went for the first time to an English beach, Southport, and it has been something really different to the beaches I’m used to. As soon as we reached the beach we realised the tide was low. You might think it’s something normal but it wasn’t! To find the sea we had to walk a lot, about 40 minutes, to find a dry place close to the water. We undressed and after 10 more minutes we reached the sea. I couldn’t wait to jump into the Irish Sea but in the end I had to give up because of many jellyfishes (I’m terrified of them).. I just wet my feet but Fede swam! When it was about 3.00 p.m. we decides to head to the city centre but walking on the sand instead of taking the bus. It was weird because the tide was still getting lower and lower and at some point it was like walking in the desert because the only thing you could see was sand. I was about to forget to tell how the sand was weird! In some areas it was slimy and it clung to the feet, in some others was rock hard, then super soft and sometimes there was some water streams perfect to wash your feet. The oddest bit it was the more you walked the stranger the sand was and further the sea. Anyway, in the end we reached the city centre and I was completely burned!

Unlikely this time we didn’t have Forrest with us because we were unsure if he would’ve been allowed on the beach and, even because we were with some friends, we preferred to try without the dog first and eventually come back later with him.

What's new? 😍

This year is almost at the end and a lot of things happened, pretty much as every other year though! We didn’t changed the website too much this year but we made some little adds and tweaks, maybe not
